He waited patiently for us at each stop and definitely knew his history. The baths were much more fun than the market would have been. I highly recommend a tour with him.

Each of the 3 locations provided a different piece of Hungarian history and Tamas was extremely knowledgeable and informative about Hungary's history. He gave us wonderful insight from ancient days right through the present.

The Danube Bend area is gorgeous. Between the sweeping views offered from Visegrad castle, to the majesty of the Estergom Basilica, to the artistic vibe of Szentendre, Tamas showed us the best the area has to offer. He even led us to a fabulous lagos stand for a wonderful quick lunch. This day trip was the highlight of our vacation. We can enthusiastically recommend this trip with Tamas. He came completely prepared with all the snacks and drinks we could want to add the final touch to a fantastic day.

Thank you Tamas for everything. We not only got to see great beauty and learn much more about Hungary, but also left feeling We had made a friend.

  Fascinating historical tour with an excellent, knowledgeable guide - We had an incredible experience with Tamas Varga on the private tour of communism in Budapest. We got much more information than we even expected because of the breadth of his knowledge of Hungarian history. We loved seeing the beautiful freedom statue up close as well as the statue park, which was a highlight for us. Getting to have the Presso cafe experience was like stepping into a 1970s time capsule, and eating a delicious traditional lunch in a local restaurant were also highlights for us, as we love getting off the beaten path and seeing how locals live. He even made sure we got some drinks and snacks that were common during the communist era, which was a thoughtful touch. Tamas also had many photos to show us so we could see archival footage of events that happened at places we visited with him. This was a fascinating look into Hungary’s communist past and I couldn’t imagine a more informative or prepared guide than Tamas. If we return to Budapest we would absolutely use him again!!

Despite the heat, tamas picked us up from... read more our hotel and gave us a wonderful day trip, with a slower pace. He was very patient with my 3 yr old toddler (and even bought a new car seat to accommodate her age and size) and grandparents we were traveling with. At the end of the day, my daughter was commenting how nice and kind he was. He provided us with great local snacks and drinks all day (kept ice cold in his fridge cooler). He always made sure to start the car ac ahead of time to keep us comfortable. He explained so much Hungarian history because we were interested and toured us around the sites so we could do the highlights efficiently. We got to see so much in a day and he never made us feel rushed at all. We loved his story telling and his kindness. The price seemed steep but in the end I’m glad we felt we got our money’s worth even during the heat wave.
